Scottish Natural Heritage
All of nature for all of Scotland
Scotland's natural heritage is its wildlife, habitats, landscapes and natural beauty. Scotland is renowned for its attractive scenery and wild places and has a huge diversity of landscapes, habitats and wildlife. These are part of what makes Scotland special and are among the country's greatest assets.
Scotland’s Natural Heritage (SNH) care for the natural heritage, enable people to enjoy it, help people to understand and appreciate it, and support those who manage it. Their aspiration is for the natural heritage to be used and managed sustainably.
Their purpose is to:
- promote, care for, and improve the natural heritage
- help people enjoy nature responsibly
- enable greater understanding and awareness of nature
- promote the sustainable use of Scotland's natural heritage
SNH jointly manage the six woodlands making up the Clyde Valley National Nature Reserve (NNR) in the Clyde and Avon Valley. The Clyde Valley Woodlands NNR is one of the ecologically richest areas of Scotland. Find out more by clicking the links below.
