Our People, Our Land, Our History: Shaping Our Future………

This vision will be delivered by involving the community in a range of environmental restoration projects from planning woodlands to creating community orchards.

There will be great opportunities for training and learning, which will both assist the work and bring long-term benefits through creating a skills base for the future. Land owners will be supported and encouraged to improve woodland and orchard habitats and learn about other opportunities through encouraging them to take up funding opportunities available through a number of streams.

There will also be:

  • new improved access to the landscape and river and improved interpretation;
  • new opportunities for training, learning and involvement around working with native woodland and fruit growing orchards;
  • new opportunities about the significance of the built environment, the designed landscapes and gardens, and the historical importance of buildings and structures throughout the area, ranging from Craignethan Castle on the River Nethan to the Hall of Mirrors, a garden feature of the Falls of the Clyde.
