Pits, Ponies, People and Stories Exhibition

Coal mining in South Lanarkshire

The exhibition explores the history of Coal Mining in South Lanarkshire - the people who worked in the pits, the ponies who were used in the mines, and the stories of miners and their families and the lives they lived in mining communities.

The exhibition is part of a two year project which involved young people, volunteers, community groups, and retired miners to create a number of resources to celebrate South Lanarkshire's incredible mining heritage.
